MAY NEWSLETTER

Hello everyone, we hope you all had a great Easter.

Whizz Kidz Nurseries – Carshalton

We are getting closer and closer to opening our second nursery, which will be a quick 10-minute walk away in Carshalton.  Stay posted for updates!  The address is War Memorial Sports Ground, Colston Avenue, Carshalton SM5 2PW.

Term Dates

The Half Term Break will run for one week from 29th May to 2nd June.  During this time, private childcare will still be available – please ask in the office for details.

All children will return after the Half Term Break from 5th June onwards, until 21st July which is the last day of term before the six-week Summer Break.

Photographs

The professional photographer shall be returning to the nursery on Monday 5th June to take a group photo of all the children.  More details of this will follow soon.

Extra Sport Focus Afternoon Football Sessions

Due to the Sports Focus football sessions being so popular, we are considering adding an additional afternoon Sports Focus session each week too.  We are yet to decide which day this will be on yet, but if you are interested in your child taking part in an additional afternoon football session then please talk to a member of staff.

Transport

This next month we will be covering the different methods of transport with the children.  Please could parents help by talking to their children about cars, buses, boats, planes, trains, etc.  For example, the different methods of travelling to nursery.  Or for example going away on holiday.

Family Tree Family Photos

Some children are STILL yet to bring in a photo of their family to go on our Family Tree wall display.  Please bring those in ASAP!

Reception and School Places

Could all parents who applied for a reception / school nursery place for September please inform your key worker as soon as you have received confirmation of your place.  Also, we would like to suggest that all parents begin talking to their children about leaving nursery to start school, as this will better prepare them mentally for change when the time comes.

We want your old Comics!

If you have any unwanted comic books please could you kindly bring them into nursery!  Thanks!

Book Share Scheme

We will be introducing a book share scheme, like at the library, where children can borrow nursery books to take home with them for short periods.  The scheme will involve parents having to “sign books in and out”, but we must warn you that there will be fines for unreturned books!  Please keep an eye out for further details to follow soon!
